After declining for three consecutive quarters, Chicago saw an increase in homebuyers actively searching for a home this past quarter.
This rise in buyer activity shows that the market is shifting to a less competitive housing market and is motivating more buyers to move from the ‘planning’ stage to the ‘active’ stage. The swing has most definitely begun from a strong seller’s market to one that is favoring buyers- lower prices, less competition, and not the insane frenzy that was common for the last few years is now upon us.

Now, more than ever, pricing a home properly is critical for sellers and buyers can expect that the listing price is back to being the starting point for a conversation and negotiation.
